“I believe it’s time we all take a step back and really look at what’s being done to our environment. Political biases and opinions should be put aside and we must come together to make change. Each person has a chance to make a difference that will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”

“We as a society need to have a monumental reconnection in our relationship with nature in order to move towards a sustainable future. When, not if, this takes place, sustainable policies and lifestyles will organically come to pass and we will once again inhabit a planet that thrives, is stable, and abundantly provides for all life.”

With the growing amount of data from scientific reports, I don’t think there is any doubt that humans have affected the environment negatively.  While it’s easy for some to view humanity as separate from nature, we are intricately and unmistakably involved in Earth systems as a whole. The future of sustainable living must be driven by understanding and restitution for the pollution we as a species have caused. An individual can truly make a difference, no matter the scale, and I am committed to help pave the way for a sustainable future.

My background is I grew up in the Bay Area in California, I grew up and loved camping and all outdoor activities and appreciated nature for its purity. Everyone in California has been on top of taking care of the environment, recycling, limiting the carbon footprint, and doing what they can to help save the planet. I do my best to avoid single-use plastics, limit beef and dairy consumption, as that industry drains the Earth’s resources drastically, and do my best to limit my food waste. I want younger generations to be able to experience what I did growing up, being around nature and appreciating its purity.

“A little background from when I was younger. I grew up camping and going to the lake with my dad and really loved being outside and have always appreciated nature. Over the past few years, I’ve really turned my attention to this planet by listening to podcasts and learning more about how much we affect the world on a daily basis. I started noticing all the trash on the highways, floating in the oceans, and while I’ve gone fishing during spring training. I’ve been trying to bring more awareness to these issues through my instagram account, but that’s not nearly enough and I want to do more. I think my heart really lies in the forest, there’s a calmness that rushes over me when I’m camping or hiking. I want to be able to take my kids camping just like my dad did when I was young.”
